Southekai Gojju – Cucumber Curry

Cucumber is my family favorite vegetable. This is one such recipe which my whole family loves. It’s a super easy and healthy recipe. I got this recipe from my MIL. 
there is no need of stove apart from tempering for this recipe. It got to be bachelors favorite recipe.

Cucumber Curry

Ingredients

  • 1 Big Cucumber

To Grind

  • 1 tbsp roasted gram (hurigadale in kannada)
  • 1 cup Grated coconut
  • 2 Green Chilies
  • 1/4 tsp tumeric
  • 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 lemon size tamarind
  • Jaggery
  • Salt

For Tempering

  • 1 tsp Any vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp channa dal
  • 1/2 tsp urad dal
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida

Instructions

  1. Chop the cucumber and keep it ready.

  2. Grind all the items mentioned above to a fine paste

  3. Mix with the chopped cucumber & add the tempering

 Cucumber Curry/ Southekai Gojju ready to be served along with Rice/Chapathi/Akki rotti.
