Idly is an amazing south Indian breakfast option. Among those is the Rava Idly which is made out of Rava/Semolina. I have a quicker and easy version of Instant Rava Idly.Idlies are my all time favourite breakfast dish. I love trying out different types of idlies. My MIL makes some amazing types of idlies. Shall be sharing them all soon.
Also recently got to know that March 30th is considered ad World Idly Day. Isn’t it amazing to have a day to celebrate our favorite food item.
I used get the ready made mix from MTR usually for Rava Idly and prepare. My mom makes the rava idly mix from scratch, so got this easy to make instant rava idly from her. There is no need of fermentation, grinding. it’s quick and will be ready on a busy week day morning.
Instant Rava Idly
Easy to make, no grinding - no fermentation required Instant Rava Idly.
- 1 cup Rava/Semolina/Sooji
- 1 cup Grated Carrot
- 1 tbsp finely shopped coriander leaves
- 2 cup Curd
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Channa Dal
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 2 Red Chilies
How to Make Step by Step with pictures.
In a pan add all the ingredients mentioned in Tempering and let it splutter
Now add the Rava and fry till it turns aromatic.
Let It cool for 10mins and later add curd, coriander leaves mix well, let it sit for 30mins.
In a Idly pan add grated carrot
Now add the idly batter and steam it for 10 to 15mins
Serve with your favorite chutney or saagu.
